Devrol Dupigny, Executive Director
Devrol Dupigny is the founding Director of Crime Stoppers Barbados Inc and the Chairman of D Idea Shop Limited, a communications consultancy firm with operations in Trinidad and Barbados.
Prior to establishing D Idea Shop in 2002, Mr. Dupigny was the Executive Manager of Marketing and Corporate Communications of Caribbean Home Insurance (now known as Guardian General), and the Head of Marketing Research at Barbados Mutual’s (now known as Sagicor) Trinidad office from 1996-1999.
He has held several leadership roles during his career. He was the Co-ordinator of Trinidad and Tobago Chamber of Industry and Commerce’s Neighbourhood Watch programme from 2002 to 2006 and was the Consultant/General Manager of Crime Stoppers Trinidad and Tobago from March 2003 to October 2006. He was also the Chairman of the Road Safety Committee of the American Chamber of Commerce in Trinidad (2002 to 2004); Chairman of the Police Partnership Initiative of the Ministry of National Security in Trinidad from 2006 to 2007; and a member of the Government Appointed Committee Against Crime – Trinidad from 2005-2007.
In August 2005, he was recognized as “International Co-ordinator of the Year” by Crime Stoppers International.
Mr. Dupigny relocated to Barbados in 2007 and founded Crime Stoppers Barbados Inc. in September 2008. He is the Treasurer of Caribbean, Bermuda and Latin America Crime Stoppers Inc. and a Member of the Board of Directors of Crime Stoppers International. In May 2012, Mr. Dupigny was appointed as Chairman of the Global Fundraising and Strategic Partnerships Committee of Crime Stoppers International.
Since April 2010, Mr. Dupigny has also been assisting the Barbados Red Cross Society with the development and restructuring of several of its programmes and services particularly in the areas of HIV and AIDS awareness, violence prevention, volunteer development and First Aid. He is the Holder of a Bachelor of Commerce with a major in Marketing from Concordia University, Canada.
Oral Reid, Chairman
Mr. Reid is a career Law Enforcement Officer and an advocate of Community Empowerment. He is the former Deputy Head of the Public Relations and Community Policing Department of the Royal Barbados Police Force and since then he has served in the capacity of Director of Security Services at the Central Bank of Barbados and currently serves, in a similar capacity, at the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus, Barbados.
He is a former Head of Criminal Intelligence and Community Policing and Public Affairs of the Royal Barbados Police Force. He is a graduate of History and Sociology of the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus and the University of Exeter, England where he successfully earned his M.A. in Police and Criminal Justice Studies, a programme specially designed for International Police Administrators and potential Commissioners of Police.
He is lecturer in Management Studies and Security Systems Design and Analysis at the Professional Security Training College (PSTC), Barbados, a lecturer in Criminology and Criminal Justice at the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus and a Programme Coordinator in Crime Prevention and Forensic and Criminal Investigation Studies at the University of the West Indies, (Online) Open Campus, Barbados.
He is a member of the Board of Management of the Caribbean, Bermuda and Latin America Branch of Crime Stoppers International and a member of the Professional Development Committee of the International Association of Campus Law Enforcement Administrators (IACLEA-USA). He is a founding member of the Caribbean Association of Security Professionals (CASP) and Vice President of the Christ Church Boy’s School Alumni.
Mr. Reid believes that community empowerment is critical to addressing those criminogenic conditions that may contribute to crime, violence and social disorder. He devotes much of his time to voluntary work with the young and financially challenged in various communities in Barbados.
